Will my supervisor be able to see my rate of pay in Workday?

In the Workday environment, supervisors will have access to many data fields that will assist them in effectively performing their role. Compensation is one of the data points that is commonly shared with supervisors and managers in a department’s leadership chain. Having this type of information allows supervisors to assist the University in making sure that all staff are paid accurately, consistently and equitably. As one example, with this data, supervisors will have access to reports for their direct reports that could point out quickly and early if there are compensation concerns for staff doing the same work based on protected classes such as gender. Supervisors also participate in comprehensive staffing reviews (CSR) for their department to ensure that position descriptions are updated to most accurately reflect the work being done by their staff. Internal and external
compensation reviews are part of the CSR again, confirming for staff, supervisors and other leaders that Bucknell remains appropriately competitive for base pay. All staff, including supervisors and others who have access to any type of sensitive, personal or confidential information are expected to use the information they have access to based on their job
responsibilities only in an appropriate manner. Individuals who disclose or inappropriately or share confidential information are subject to disciplinary action up to and including separation. Much as we would expect for any violations of Bucknell policies or procedures, we would encourage you to reach out to your supervisor or some other member of your department leadership team, or Human Resources if you suspect that information is being shared inappropriately.
