President Bravman’s Remarks on Workday

For the past 18 months, we have been sharing with you updates on the University’s transition from Banner finance and human resource applications to Workday, a modern, cloud-based software solution that addresses HR, payroll and financial needs. As I have stated in the past, Workday will streamline day-to-day functions in areas such as billing, timesheet entry, personal records and more, and it will allow our colleagues in HR and Finance to better support the campus and develop more efficient processes.

Every single Bucknell employee will, in one way or another, interact with the Workday platform. As such, and to make this transition as seamless as possible and create a shared understanding of the steps that remain between now and the Workday launch on April 1, we will begin sending weekly communications with key information, such as FAQs, training opportunities, and other relevant updates. You can also visit the Workday website, which is regularly updated. Please note that the implementation of Workday will be an ongoing process that begins on our targeted launch date of April 1 and continues to evolve over time. As we integrate Workday’s functions into daily University business, we will provide ongoing responsiveness and training.

My thanks to our colleagues in Library & Information Technology, Finance and Human Resources who have been working so diligently on Workday. And my thanks to all of you for your attention to this critically important initiative.

John Bravman
President
